The NASCAR baby boom continues. SPEED reporter Wendy Venturini announced via Twitter on Friday that she and her husband, Jarrad Egert, are expecting:

@WendyVenturini: It's difficult to keep the good news in any longer. We want to be the first to share with all of you...Jarrad & I are expecting a baby!

Venturini, 31, said on her Twitter page that the couple will welcome a son. The baby's due date is Dec. 27, "just as planned for the off-season!"

Due to the timing, race fans can expect to see Venturini on SPEED without a break for the remainder of the NASCAR season:

@WendyVenturini: I'll be off camera Homestead to Daytona, but not a single NASCAR Raceday will b missed! B prepared 2 watch my baby bump grow! haha. Thanks!

Venturini and Egert were married Dec. 5, 2007. Egert is director of track operations at Joe Gibbs Racing.

Skirts and Scuffs congratulates Wendy and Jarrad on their expanding family!
