The 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup action at Atlanta Motor Speedway will kick off early with four drivers participating in off-season tire testing for Goodyear.
Carl Edwards, Sam Hornish Jr., Mark Martin and Martin Truex Jr. will prepare for the Kobalt Tools 500 during two days of testing on Jan. 12-13.
The two-day test is closed to the public and will aid Goodyear in determining the paramount tire for the March 7 race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Of the four drivers currently slated for the test, Edwards is the most accomplished at Atlanta with three Sprint Cup wins and a weekend sweep in 2005, claiming victory in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide races. Martin has two wins and two poles at the track, while Truex Jr. won the most recent pole for September's Pep Boys Auto 500.
