Longer race at PIR in 2010
According to The Arizona Republic, racing at Phoenix International Raceway will last just a bit longer in 2010. The race will now be 375 laps/miles rather than 312.
The new name of the race will be the Subway Fresh Fit 600 (PIR measures their races in kilometers). The change was due to the new starting times NASCAR announced after receiving feedback from fans. With the change, the race would not have ended under the lights which had become a popular occurrence with fans.
PIR's fall race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup will remain 500km but will have a new title sponsor.
An official announcement is expected next week.
