Women in the Winner's Circle

Daytona Beach Florida is currently the temporary home for this visiting traveling exhibit. Lyn St. James, who is the founder of the foundation, joined with The Henry Ford of Dearborn, MI, to put together this outstanding tribute to the women of racing. Lyn St. James was quoted having said, "It's the perfect venue to launch the exhibit It's everything I envisioned it to be."

The exhibit features many items to spotlight the history of women in motorsports. The exhibit includes a variety of items and personal affects from women dating back to 1903. Included are not only photographs but informational panels that cover decades of racing history. There are also 3 of the racecars to include Louise Smith's No. 94 Coupe (replica), 1989 Ford Thunderbird of Lyn St. James in which she traveled up to 212 mph at 'Dega, and Kara Kendricks's Restored TQ Midgetcar.

The exhibit also includes items from other driver's such as Jutta Kleinschmidt from her 2001 Dakar Rally, open wheel legend Desire Wilson's trophy, and IZOD IndyCar Series driver Sarah Fisher's racing uniform.

There is also an informative and interactive booth where you can find the in-depth biographies on the drivers as well as more photographs.

The Women in the Winners Circle Foundation, of which Lyn St. James is the founder, is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing up and coming young women, and encourages their pursuit in automotive fields.

Those interested in participating in the program can contact Jill Swidler at Jill@LynStJames.com for information.
