Jack Roush to Headline Appearances at Auto Club Speedway’s Ford Racing Party Zone (October 9-10)

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (August 26, 2010) – NASCAR personality and team owner Jack Roush, who has lived a much talked about life both on the track and off, will make a special appearance in the Ford Racing Party Zone fan hospitality tent during the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup playoff race weekend at Auto Club Speedway, Oct. 9-10.  Don’t miss the chance to see this legend of NASCAR reflect about his life – past, present and future.

Joining Roush in the Ford Racing Party Zone on Sunday, Oct. 10, will be NSCS Ford Racing Team drivers Elliott Sadler, Greg Biffle and AJ Allmendinger.

On Saturday, Oct. 9 NNS Ford Racing Team drivers Colin Braun and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will be in the Ford Racing Party Zone to talk about their racing experiences.

Roush released from hospital

Jack Roush was released Wednesday from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where he spent two weeks recuperating from injuries suffered in a plane crash last month, team officials said in a release.

It is not known when Roush, co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing and chairman of Roush Performance, will return to the track, according to the statement.

“I would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and concern I have received the past two weeks,” Roush said in the release. “Our teams and drivers have not missed a beat in my absence, and I am proud of the effort they have put forth. I look forward to rejoining them at the track soon.”

Roush underwent surgery for facial lacerations he sustained July 27, when the plane he was piloting crashed upon landing in Oshkosh, Wis. Roush was able to walk away from the crash, but photos from the scene showed him with a bloodied face.

The crash was the second for Roush in the last eight years. In 2002, Roush crashed a plane into an Alabama lake and nearly drowned before a former Marine who lived nearby came to his rescue.

The once highly visible team owner has been missed at the track. For the past two race weekends, all of the Sprint Cup and Nationwide cars in the Roush Fenway Racing stable were fitted with decals that said, "Get back to the track, Jack!"

The decals are still available for purchase to the general public, according to Roush Fenway Racing's Facebook page. Cost is $5 plus tax. All proceeds will go to Speedway Children's Charities in Roush's name. To order, call 704-720-4350.

Roush upgraded to fair condition after plane crash

Roush Fenway Racing co-owner Jack Roush was upgraded to fair condition Sunday night at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., according to a release from Roush Fenway Racing.

Roush was in a plane accident last week at Wittman Air Field in Oshkosh, Wis. He was able to walk away from the crash, but suffered facial injuries and underwent surgery last Tuesday. Roush continues to receive treatment at the hospital for his injuries. No timetable has been set for his release.

The team owner was on the minds of many this weekend at Pocono Raceway and Iowa Speedway. When Greg Biffle captured the checkered flag in the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono, the driver of the No. 16 3M Ford said, “This one’s for Jack." All of the organization's Sprint Cup and Nationwide cars were fitted with decals that said, "Get back to the track, Jack!" The Roush Fenway entries will run the decals again during the upcoming races at Watkins Glen, according to the team's Facebook page.

The decals will be available for purchase from Roush Fenway Racing starting Tuesday, Aug. 3. Cost is $5 plus tax. All proceeds will go to Speedway Children's Charities in Roush's name. To order, call 704-720-4350.

Concord, N.C. (July 28, 2010) – Jack Roush, co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing and chairman of ROUSH® Enterprises, remains hospitalized in serious, but stable condition following a plane accident at Wittman Air Field in Oshkosh, Wisc., yesterday.  He is currently under observation for facial injuries sustained in the accident.

His passenger, Brenda Stricklin, was treated and released from a Wisconsin hospital this afternoon.
