Fan appreciation activities include autograph session with Busch, Brian Ickler

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2010) – Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), which recently moved into its newly completed corporate headquarters and race shop in Mooresville, invites race fans to its KBM Grand Opening and Fan Appreciation Day festivities on Thursday, Oct. 14.

Among the events and fan attractions on tap for the event, which begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m., is a morning autograph session featuring KBM driver-owner Kyle Busch and his fellow driver of the No. 18 KBM Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Brian Ickler. The autograph session is slated for a 9:30 a.m. start and will be limited to the first 200 fans who purchase a wristband for $2, proceeds from which benefit the Kyle Busch Foundation. Wristbands will be available on-site beginning at 8:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. A maximum of two items per wristband purchase will be autographed.

Fans attending the Grand Opening and Fan Appreciation Day festivities can tour the high-tech and environmentally friendly 77,000-square-foot KBM facility, where the team builds and prepares its stable of Toyota Tundra racetrucks.

Racetrucks and showcars will be on display in the KBM showroom, and fans can try their hands at a tire-changing display and take a turn at racing Traxxas radio-controlled cars. Fans can also find a variety of KBM merchandise and memorabilia in the brand new Rowdy Store at the facility.

“We are extremely happy with how our facility has turned out, and we’re excited about the opportunity to open our doors to our fans and let them inside for an up-close-and-personal look at the world of Kyle Busch Motorsports,” said Busch, the 25-year-old driving phenom whose Truck Series team has positioned itself to challenge for the 2010 owner’s championship in its very first season.

Traxxas To Sponsor #18 for Kyle Busch Motorsports

Kahne and Kyle Busch Motorsports Team Up for Pocono Truck Race

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 15, 2010) – Kasey Kahne, who is undefeated in two career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts, will pilot the No. 18 Toyota of Scranton (Pa.) Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) in the inaugural Pocono Mountains 125 Truck Series event July 31 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.

Kahne, who drives the No. 9 Budweiser Ford full-time for Richard Petty Motorsports in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, won Truck Series races in November 2004 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve competed in the Camping World Truck Series,” said Kahne, who led 149 of a possible 284 laps in his two Truck Series starts. “It’s a great opportunity for me to come back to the series and compete with really good equipment. I’ve watched Kyle put the team together and it’s really been impressive how well they’ve done this year as a first-year team. I’m really looking forward to working with Rick Ren (director of competition) and Eric Phillips (crew chief) and trying to put the No. 18 Toyota of Scranton Toyota Tundra in victory lane.”
In 13 career Sprint Cup starts at Pocono, Kahne has one win (June 2008), two poles (June 2004 and 2008) and five top-10 finishes. He has never started lower than 20th and has rolled off the grid eighth or better nine times.

“It’s a big deal for us to have someone like Kasey in the No. 18 Toyota Tundra,” said KBM driver-owner Kyle Busch. “His Truck Series record is about as good as it can get, given that he’s never lost a race. He’s obviously got a good record at Pocono in the Sprint Cup Series as well, so we know he’ll give us a great chance to go to victory lane.

“Rick and Eric are excited to work with him and I know the rest of the KBM guys are pumped to have him in our truck. We really have to thank everyone at Toyota of Scranton for their support and I know Kasey will do all he can to get them a victory.”

The Pocono Mountains 125 is the first-ever Truck Series event at Pocono Raceway, which is located 38 miles south of Toyota of Scranton.

The 50-lap race at Pocono begins at 1 p.m. EDT on July 31 and will be broadcast live on SPEED beginning with a pre-race show at 12:30 p.m.

Busch vs. Busch: Pocono

Truck: Busch shut down operations of his No. 56 truck this week and with the trucks in Texas and Cup in Pocono, had Johnny Benson in the driver's seat. Benson brought the truck home 10th.

Nationwide: Busch announced several weeks ago he would not run the entire Nationwide season, especially on split weekends. This weekend, Brad Coleman took over the wheel of the No. 18 and finished sixth.

Cup: Busch had a great weekend at Pocono, where he was making his 200th start. He finished sixth, fifth and fourteenth in practices. He topped that off by qualifying on the pole next to Clint Bowyer. He led four times for 32 laps, although at one point fell to around 14th position. However, he stayed in the top five for most of the race and came to the checkered flag 2nd, behind teammate Denny Hamlin. This is his third top 10 in 11 races at Pocono and his ninth top 10 of 2010. Busch remains second in the point standings, now only 19 behind leader Kevin Harvick.

The elder Busch had a roller coaster of a weekend. In practices, he finished 10th, 10th and 20th and qualified fourth.

Kyle Busch at Nashville

Truck: Busch led 131 of 150 laps and took the checkered flag for the first time in his own Kyle Busch Motorsports equipment. Constantly at the front of the pack, he beat Kevin Harvick to get his second guitar in Nashville.

Nationwide: Busch started fourth at the race he is defending and won in his truck yesterday. Throughout the first half of the race, he complained about his car and did not lead any laps. After the red flag was lifted on lap 121, Busch was seventh. He doubled his placement by lap 137 on the next restart after the next caution, starting 14th. Seven laps later he was in fourth. With 50 laps left and fuel and pit strategy talk flying around, Busch was in third. The guys in the broadcast booth predicted if the race stayed green, he would be the only one who could make it all the way. When Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano pitted under green to get fuel and new tires, Busch took over the lead. He fell back to second after a caution on lap 191. At the checkered flag, Busch took third place.

Kyle Busch Motorsports Earns First Victory with Driver-Owner Behind the Wheel

LEBANON, Tenn. — Kyle Busch delivered a smashing performance Friday night in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series' Nashville 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.

He just didn't deliver a smashing celebration.

Busch, who started from the pole position, led 131 of the 150 laps around the 1.33-mile concrete oval and cruised to a victory by 0.426 seconds over Kevin Harvick.

The victory was the first in the Camping World Truck Series and first NASCAR national touring series victory for Kyle Busch Motorsports. Busch turned his Late Model team into a truck team after the 2009 season, and it took only four truck races for Busch to find victory lane in his own equipment.

"It's a big deal," Busch said. "It's always nice to win anytime you're in anybody's stuff. But especially in your own, it seems to sit a lot better within yourself. This is a big deal that we've taken on this year and (my fiancée) Samantha being a part of that, too.

"There was a lot of blood, sweat and tears this winter put into this deal. … I'm very proud of everybody and the way they've worked so hard this year."


A change in teams also included a change in celebrations for Busch, who smashed the Gibson guitar that serves as Nashville's trophy last June after winning a Nationwide Series race. The act—which Busch said wasn't meant as a sign of disrespect to the track nor artist Sam Bass, who painted the guitar—created a stir for a driver who already battles his share of controversy.

This time, Busch just held the guitar over his head as he celebrated his 17th victory in 72 career starts in the series. It was the first time Busch had raced a truck at Nashville and the first time he won in a truck owned by someone other than Billy Ballew.


"I gave the guitar to Sam and told Sam if he wanted to do any damage to my truck, he could have at it," Busch said. "But he didn't. It's all good."

Following Busch and Harvick across the finish line were Ron Hornaday, Harvick's teammate, then Timothy Peters and Todd Bodine. In a race that had only two cautions, only eight drivers finished on the lead lap, with Matt Crafton in sixth, Mike Skinner in seventh and Aric Almirola in eighth.

"It's good that (Busch) won," Harvick said. "Obviously they put a lot of effort into it. He's going to win, whether it's his truck or Billy Ballew's truck. … It was just a matter of time before they won."

Peters leads the points by 82 over Almirola and 93 over Bodine.

The truck series has a month off before racing May 2 at Kansas Speedway.

Dollar General to Sponsor KBM #18 at Nashville Truck Series Race

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (March 30, 2010) – Dollar General, the nation’s largest small-box retailer, will sponsor Kyle Busch’s No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) Toyota Tundra in Friday night’s 200-mile NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn.

The one-race sponsorship will give Dollar General a solid presence at Nashville as they also sponsor Braun Racing full-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Reed Sorenson will pilot the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota for Braun Racing on Saturday afternoon at the 1.33-mile oval.

Dollar General and Busch have plenty of history together, as Busch drove Braun Racing’s No. 32 Dollar General Toyota to victory in the May 2008 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. The Las Vegas native has more than 60 wins in NASCAR’s top three divisions, including three Nationwide Series races where Dollar General served as race sponsor (October 2008 at Charlotte; July 2008 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.; and October 2009 at Charlotte).

The 130-lap race at Nashville begins at 8 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast live on SPEED beginning with a pre-race show at 7:30 p.m.
