Nationwide Pole Report: Logano and Busch Front Row Domination for Ford 300

How do you make an interesting series, even more interesting?  The answer is simple you have teammates on the front row.  Oh wait, we have seen this plenty of times in the 2010 season when it comes to the Nationwide Series.  Joey Logano wins the pole in the Game Stop Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing with a lap of 31.487 (171.499 mph.).  His teammate Kyle Busch in the NOS Energy Drink Toyota only -0.005 behind.  Is having his teammate on the front row a good or bad thing?  Only time will tell.

Other than figuring out the Owners’ Championship, why should we be watching the last Nationwide race of 2010?  How about Danica Patrick in the JR Motorsports Go Daddy No. 7 starting fifth on the grid?  Her best start ever in the series.  Will this be the race in which people realize she is good at what she does behind the wheel?

Sprint Cup Pole Report: Kahne Uses His Wings to Grab Ford 400 Pole

In the No. 83 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Kasey Kahne won his fourth pole for the 2010 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway with a lap of 30.525 seconds (176.904 mph.). This is the first of hopefully many poles for Kahne in a Red Bull Toyota. Just behind him on the grid is the winner of last week’s race at Phoenix International Raceway, Carl Edwards, in the Aflac Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing, 0.031 behind the leader.

A few things to watch for this weekend’s race: Greg Biffle qualified 27th in a backup car after crashing into the wall during the early practice today. As for the top three Chasers, Denny Hamlin qualified 37th, Jimmie Johnson qualified 6th, and Kevin Harvick qualified 28th. I do not know what to expect on Sunday, other than a nail-biter of a race. Will we have a new champion or will Johnson win his fifth in a row?

Sprint Cup Pole Report: Edwards Breaks Track Record Winning Pole

Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion, broke Phoenix International Raceway’s track record with a lap of 26.395 (136.389 mph.) for the Kobalt Tools 500 during Friday's qualifying session. To finish out the front row is A.J. Allmendinger, only 0.027 behind Edwards in the Insignia HDTV/Best Buy Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports, who did not know what to expect for this weekend when it came to cars in which they would be racing. 

It is the second to last race of the season. Kurt Busch will be handing over the keys to the Miller Lite Blue Deuce to Brad Keselowski before taking over the No. 22 Pennzoil Dodge for Penske Racing starting in2011. Lots of teams though are trying to win before the end of the season to make a statement in the sport of NASCAR.  But after the race last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, you just never know what could happen.  

Now when it comes to the Chase, Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick are only 59 points within one another in the top three spots of the Chase. Who do you think of these three will win some major points in hopes to win the championship this weekend and next?

Nationwide Pole Report: Buescher Takes O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge Pole

James Buescher takes the pole at his home track at Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge with a lap of 28.529 (189.281 mph.) in the Wolfpack Energy Services Chevrolet for Turner Motorsports.  One the outside pole is Kevin Harvick in the Jimmy John’s Chevrolet only -0.032 behind the leader.  Great job by Buescher and Harvick with such great laps during qualifying. 

Along with the big Sadler announcement with Kevin Harvick Inc., last years Raybestos Rookie of the Year in the Nationwide Series Justin Allgaier announced that he will be driving for Turner Motorsports starting next year after being released from Penske Racing a few weeks back.  This was probably was the best news I heard all day, so happy to see Allgaier will be in a solid ride for next season.

Sprint Cup Pole Report: Sadler Has Big Day at Texas Motor Speedway

How do you top a big announcement concerning your future in NASCAR?  If you are Elliott Sadler who announced he will be driving full time next season in the Nationwide Series for Kevin Harvick Inc., you win the pole at Texas Motor Speedway.  Pretty darn good lap if you ask me, the numbers do not lie.  His lap of 27.636 (195.397 mph.) in the Stanley Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports.  To finish out the front row is Ford teammate and Chaser Greg Biffle who was only -0.249 behind Sadler in his American Red Cross Fusion.  A nice day all around for Ford who took five of the ten spots in the top ten which includes Edwards, Ragan, and Allmendinger. 

The eighth race in the Chase, what do you expect from the race?  Do you expect it to be the racers playing cowboys and indians or will it be a nice calm race?  All I know is that it will be interesting to see what comes next after the past couple races we have seen in this 2010 Sprint Cup Chase.

Trucks Pole Report: Crafton Leads Grid for WinStar World Casino 350K

Matt Crafton the driver of the No. 88 McGuire-Nicholas / Menards Chevrolet took the pole for the WinStar World Casino 350 K with a lap of 29.964 (180.216 mph.) at Texas Motor Speedway in race 23 of the 25 race season.  A great start to the weekend for Crafton and also Elliott Sadler who is in second place on the grid only -0.052 behind the leader in the Realtree Outfitters Chevrolet for Kevin Harvick Inc.

What should we be watching for during this race?  How about Johanna Long who is starting ninth on the grid for the race, Long being one of two female drivers in this weekends race for the Camping World Truck Series has a lap of 30.185 (178.897 mph.) only -0.221 behind the leader, I say that is a pretty darn lap, wouldn’t you?  Good luck to all the racers during the race!

Cup Pole Report: Montoya on Target for AMP Energy 500 Pole

Juan Pablo Montoya, the driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, claimed the pole for Sunday's AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway with a lap of 51.863 (184.640 mph.) in the all-Chevy front row.  Clint Bowyer was only 0.040 of a second behind Montoya in the No. 33 BB&T for Richard Childress Racing during Saturday's qualifying session. Six out of the top 10 on the grid are Chevrolets. Could this mean a good weekend for Chevrolet once again at Talladega after Kevin Harvick won the race in the spring? 

A few new paint schemes will grace the track for the Halloween weekend. The one to be watching for in my eyes is Jamie McMurray's, who will being driving the Bass Pro Shops Dale Earnhardt Sr. Tribute car, which was announced back in May during the weekend of the inaugural NASCAR Hall of Fame class. Other ones to watch out for are Michael Waltrip back in the No. 55 in the Aaron’s 55th Anniversary Toyota and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in "The Legend of Hallowdega" Amp Energy Juice / National Guard Chevrolet. All of the schemes are definitely eye-catching!

Trucks Pole Report: Hornaday Wins Pole for Mountain Dew 250

Ron Hornaday takes the pole for the Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway with a lap of 52.839 (181.230 mph.) in his No. 33 E-Z-Go 2Five Street Legal Vehicle Chevrolet for KHI.  Just behind Hornaday on the grid is Jason White -0.093 behind in the No. 23 GunBroker.com / Pursuit Channel Toyota. 

"People say that Ron Hornaday is a short-track driver, and to come to Talladega and sit on the pole is so cool," Hornaday said. "There are only four tracks I haven't won at, and Talladega is one of them. I want to get that off my check list, just like I got this one off my list with the pole here. It's pretty awesome."

Sprint Cup Pole Report: Hamlin Wins Pole for Tums Fast Relief 500

The Toyota Racing Team raced into the two front row positions for the Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway for Sunday afternoons race, Denny Hamlin won the spot with a lap of 19.518 ( 97.018 mph.) in the Joe Gibbs Racing FedEX Camry.  The front line is completed with Marcos Ambrose in the No. 47 Dollar General Country Million Sweepstakes car with a lap of 19.521 (97.003 mph.) only 0.003 seconds behind Hamlin.  Only one third of the Chase drivers are in the top ten including Greg Biffle who considers Martinsville as one of his bad tracks, could this be a sign of good things to come? 

The other interesting thing for this race has to be Kasey Kahne driving the No. 83 Red Bull Toyota after being released from Richard Petty Motorsports late Wednesday night, Aric Almirola has replaced Kahne in the No. 9 Budweiser Ford for this weekend.  Do you think these last five races will get Kahne ready for his stint with Red Bull Racing for next season before he goes over to drive the No. 5 for Hendrick Motorsports in 2012?

Sprint Cup Race Lineup: McMurray Takes Pole for Pepsi Max 400

The number 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet driven by Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 Champion Jamie McMurray leads the pack at the Auto Club Speedway capturing the pole for both races at the track in the 2010 season with a lap of 38.859 (185.285 mph.).  You think that McDonald’s will be fueling the race tomorrow for the team with the power in the ECR engines?  Also on the front row is the No. 19 Reynolds Ford driven by Elliott Sadler with a lap only -0.185 behind McMurray with a lap of 39.044 (184.407 mph.).

This is the fourth race in the Cup for the Chase for the 2010 season, this is also the last race in the Chase for the track, what kind of records will be made?  Will a chaser or non-chaser win, if it is a chaser will it be one of the three whom have already won?  Greg Biffle who won the race at Kansas Speedway last weekend lead the first of two practices today with a lap of 181.837 mph.  Going to be a fun race, good luck to the all the drivers tomorrow!

Nationwide Pole Results: Kyle Busch Leads Pack for CampingWorld.com 300

Where was Kyle Busch at 8:30 a.m. PST today?  He was at Auto Club Speedway qualifying for the NASCAR Nationwide Race in Fontana, California in which he took the pole for this afternoons race.  His lap speed of 182.039 mph (39.552 seconds.) for the No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing.  Right behind him is Kevin Harvick only -0.186 behind in the Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches Chevrolet for Kevin Harvick, Inc. 

Yet what is the thing we should be watching out for the most?  I think it is Danica Patrick who qualified in the top 20 with the fourteenth spot for the No. 7 Tissot / GoDaddy.com Chevrolet for JR Motorsports.  Yes you read that right, hopefully this will be the race in which turns things around for Patrick who will be driving the rest of the season.

Nationwide Race Lineup: Logano Leads Pack for Kansas Lottery 300

With a lap of 31.098 (173.645 mph.) Joey Logano has won his sixth pole position this season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in the Sports Clips Toyota.  Joe Gibbs Racing team mate Kyle Busch right behind him in the second position on the grid only -0.066 behind in the NOS Energy Drink Toyota.  The new face for this race has to Martin Truex, Jr, who will be in Out! Pet Care Toyota replacing Trevor Bayne who is now driving for Roush Fenway Racing along with a lot of other changes in the lineup for teams including James Buescher and Brian Scott.

Pole Report: Kahne Takes Pole for Price Chopper 400

Kasey Kahne takes the pole for the Price Chopper 400 from Kansas Speedway which takes place on Sunday, October 3rd at 1 p.m. EST on ESPN.  With a lap of 30.920 (174.644 mph.) nothing could stop Kahne along with the rest of the No. 9 Budweiser Ford from Richard Petty Motorsports to win their first race of the 2010 season.  Yet right behind him is his RPM teammate Paul Menard with a lap of 30.951 (174.469 mph.) only -0.031 behind the leader in the Zecol / Menard’s car.

The third race in the Chase for the Cup after two pretty powerful races at Loudon and Dover, what will happen this weekend to keep us at the edges of our seats at the track, or at home?  All eyes will be on Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, and Kurt Busch who top the standings, yet other eyes will be on the bottom four of Greg Biffle, Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, and Clint Bowyer who have the biggest obstacles ahead of them in the race from Kansas and so on.

Good luck to each and every driver during the Price Chopper 400 from Kansas which is airing live on ESPN at 1 p.m. EST after the Countdown at 12 p.m. EST on ESPN 2!

Joey Logano the driver of the No. 20 Game Stop Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing takes the pole at Dover International Speedway with a lap of 23.330 (154.308 mph.) to tame Miles the Monster.  His fellow JGR teammate Kyle Busch is right behind him with a lap of 23.355 (154.143 mph.) in the NOS Energy Drink Toyota. 

The thing to be watching today is definitely Danica Patrick who is driving the No. 7 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet for JR Motorsports who will be racing the rest of the season once the IZOD Indy Car season is over, giving her more seat time in the car.  What kind of challenges will the track be bringing her today?

Pole Report: Jimmie Johnson Leads Field for AAA 400

Four time defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson the driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Impala Chevrolet tames the Monster Mile of Dover International Speedway with a lap of 23.116 (155.736 mph.).  But the real drama had to be the real surprise from the qualifying rounds today has to be Mark Martin's right-rear shock had a problem in qualifying...failed post-qualifying inspection. Dropped from 3rd to 42nd, which moves everyone up on the grid for Sunday’s afternoon race.

The second race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship from Dover International Speedway airs live on ESPN 1 p.m. EST/ 12 CST with the NASCAR Now Pre-Race show at Noon.  So what will people be looking at during the race this week?  The answer is simple, they will be looking to see what will happen with the different cars in the Chase, once the race is over.  Will anymore teams be getting penalties from NASCAR like the No. 33 Cheerios Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing?

Things looking up for Keselowski's first Cup season

This has been an up-and-down sort of year for one Brad Keselowski. Toward the end of his first full season in Cup with new team Penske, some had to wonder if he was ready?

In the Nationwide Series, Keselowski is the points leader and is sure to win the championship. But for some reason, Keselowski just isn’t making any ground in Cup.

Keselowski has won one Cup race in 2009, but he wasn’t with Penske then; he was with James Finch and Phoenix Racing, powered by engines from Hendrick Motorsports.

Keselowski’s first Cup season hasn’t really been all that great. Troubles with wrecking out and such have resulted in the young driver not doing well. But that never caused Keselowski to quit; he just kept racing every Sunday, even when it seemed he wasn’t going anywhere but the wrong way.

It would seem Keselowski's season is turning around. The latest race at Richmond, which was Sept. 11, Keselowski finished 15th, a real improvement from where he usually finishes around the 20s or 30s. It’s the little improvements that show Keselowski is slowly making it.

During Friday’s qualifying for Loudon, Keselowski felt his car was really fast. As Keselowski took to the track for his qualifying run he would surprise himself. Coming down for the final lap, Keselowski would not only take the pole position but also break the track record. Keselowski was extremely happy and thrilled to get the pole.

Keselowski did get to keep the pole and will start the race 1st, his first ever pole. Keselowski went on to say this:

"I would love to be the spoiler of the Chase, I would live for that moment."

It was a rocky start, but it may be a great happy ending for Keselowski’s first Cup season.
